Leisure Island (Moturiki), located off of Mount Maunganui's Main Beach, is one of the most popular attractions along this part of the beach and just happens to be a beautiful photo spot for taking images of Mount Maunganui.

Mount Maunganui beach has been ranked Number 1 as New Zealand's Best Beach and was ranked one of the top 25 Best Beaches in the world for its magical white sandy beach stretching for miles and its beautiful blue water.

Photography info: On the mid tide the sand and waterline creates beautiful reflections of Mount Maunganui, and on the left hand side of Leisure Island there are some rock outcrops that make for a great foreground to any landscape image. I would recommend using your wide angle lens for this location and if you have ND filters have a go at slowing down the surf to create dreamy water.
