I stumbled up this spot when I was running late for a sunrise and had just arrived into the South Island on the ferry an hour before. It is such a beautiful vineyard with the hills in the background and is absolutely perfect at sunrise and golden hour.
To get to this spot you will need to park on Craven Road safely, and the walk around to the highway front side of the vineyard. To get this shot I held my tripod in the air (unconventional lol) and operated the camera from my phone. It was the only way to be elevated enough to get above the vines.
Please make sure you are far enough off the road as the highway is busy, and stay behind the fence so you are not crossing into private property.
Take your wide angle (16-35mm) with you for this shot and get here at sunrise for that beautiful light on the hills.
