Wilmot Pass is a stunningly beautiful 671m high pass on the main divide of New Zealand's South Island. It connects Doubtful Sound, an indentation in the coastline of Fiordland, to the West Arm of Lake Manapouri. Named after E.H Wilmot, a former surveyor-general of New Zealand, Wilmot Pass lies between Mount Wilmot and Mount Mainwaring.
You will come across the Wilmot Pass on the RealNZ Doubtful Sound cruise after you've crossed Lake Manapouri by boat, and have jumped onto the bus to travel over the pass to Doubtful Sound. It is a scheduled stop on the bus journey so you won't miss it.
Take your zoom lens with you for this location so you can capture to view into Doubtful Sound with lots of detail.
