The Westman Islands, also known as Vestmannaeyjar, are a group of 15 islands and 30 rock stacks off the South Coast of Iceland. These islands have a fascinating history such as a recent volcanic eruption in 1973 that reshaped the landscape. Today, the islands are a popular destination for puffin watching, whale-watching, hiking, and exploring the Eldfell volcano. With stunning natural beauty and rich history, the Westman Islands offer a unique and unforgettable experience for visitors.
Sightseeing around the islands is free, but Herjólfur boat offers affordable tickets to the islands from the mainland.
