Reynisfjara is an awe-inspiring beach located on Iceland's South Coast and is home to the infamous Reynisdrangar. The stack of basalt columns standing proud in the Atlantic ocean have been long-believed to be trolls who were turned to stone as dawn broke, according to Icelandic folklore. Not only are the unique cliffs a sight to behold, but there are also thousands of seabirds nesting along them, making it a must-see destination for all nature lovers. Take a drive along Route 1 to Reynisfjara from Reykjavík, the capital city and home to countless other spectacular sites such as Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss waterfalls, and take in the magic that this beautiful black sand beach and its surrounding landscapes have to offer.
