Miradouro da Fajã do Conde offers a unique perspective of Flores Island, with stunning views of Santa Cruz and the surrounding agricultural fields.
The name “Fajã do Conde” comes from the Portuguese word “fajã,” meaning a flat coastal plain formed by lava flows, and “Conde,” which may relate to a historical or geographical significance.
Visitors can soak in the diverse terrain from this lookout point, located near Ponta de Fernao Jorge and Ribeira dos Barqueiro.
Additionally, the viewpoint offers views of rugged cliffs, green hills, and the Atlantic Ocean. These vistas are especially striking at sunrise, when the soft light highlights the landscape’s details and creates a beautiful interplay of light and shadow on the shoreline and ocean expanses.
