Rocha do Navio is a coastal cliff formation known for its dramatic vertical cliffs, waterfalls, and unique geological features. It’s a result of volcanic activity that shaped the island of Madeira. 🌋
The name Rocha do Navio comes from a Dutch ship that crashed there in the 19th century. According to another version, the area got its name because of a rock in the ocean that looks like a sail. ⛵
This small village in Santana, on the north side of Madeira Island, is like a flat area near the sea where people grow crops.
Sometimes visitors can use a cable car to go up and down, but commonly it’s used only by locals. 🚠
Or, if you’re feeling adventurous, you can take a short, steep hiking path. 🥾
Visit this stunning viewpoint at sunrise. You won't regret, I promise.
