The Organ Pipes at Ana Ferreira Peak on Porto Santo are one of the island’s most unique natural landmarks. These basalt columns, formed millions of years ago by cooling volcanic magma, resemble the pipes of a giant organ and are a rare geological phenomenon. The site offers breathtaking views of Porto Santo’s rugged landscapes and is a must-visit for anyone exploring the island.

Getting here is relatively easy, but the last stretch of the road is unpaved. It’s recommended to use a car with high ground clearance—while a full 4x4 isn’t necessary, a standard low-clearance vehicle might struggle.

From the Organ Pipes, you can also take a short hike to the Gruta de Ana Ferreira, a fascinating cave that is another highlight of Porto Santo and adds even more adventure to your visit. This combination of geological wonder, stunning views, and nearby attractions makes the Organ Pipes a key stop for anyone visiting the island.
