The Panorâmico de Monsanto is a unique park and viewpoint located just outside of the city. It is situated on one of the highest hills in the city and offers breathtaking views of Lisbon and its surroundings, including the Tejo River, the iconic 25th of April Bridge and the big Jesus statue Cristo Rei
The park which it is located in covers over 500 hectares and is known for its lush green spaces, walking trails, and picnic areas, making it a popular destination for families and outdoor enthusiasts.
We have been to this place many, many times and we love checking out the graffiti and street art that covers the walls of the Abandoned restaurant. The architecture of Panorâmico de Monsanto is also very interesting with many murals and wall tiles that we sometimes get lost in.
In addition to the stunning views, the Panoramico de Monsanto is also home to a range of wildlife, including native birds and small mammals, making it a great place for birdwatching and wildlife observation. Whether you're looking for a peaceful escape from the city or want to take in the breathtaking views, the Panorâmico de Monsanto is a must-visit destination in Lisbon.
You can easily park your car at the Panorâmico building and get lost from there. That is how we usually do it.
The video is from our first visit to the park back when we had just moved to Lisbon
