Here is something you have to do in Lisbon. You have to get lost in the narrow old streets of the hilly neighborhood of Alfama!
Alfama is a charming neighborhood in the heart of Lisbon, known for its narrow streets, historic architecture, and lively atmosphere.
The neighborhood is located on the hillside just east of the city center and is home to many traditional Portuguese restaurants and bars.
You can explore the winding streets lined with colorful buildings and experience the local culture. One of the highlights of the neighborhood is the Miradouro de Santa Luzia, a viewpoint offering stunning views of the city and the Tejo River. Alfama is also home to the Se Cathedral and the National Pantheon, two important historical landmarks.
Overall, Alfama is a must-see destination for anyone visiting Lisbon, as it offers a glimpse into the city's rich history and vibrant culture.
When you do your Alfama walk wear some nice shoes because you are gonna walk up and down a lot. But don't worry you find plenty of nice bars and cut restaurant to cool down and get a beer of a glass of wine.
Alfama is the reason we fell in love with Lisbon and it happened as we walked the many streets, spoke to the locals and soaked in the authentic Portuguese atmosphere.
The video we shared is from the biggest Party in Portugal. Its called Santo Antonio festival and we think it shows what Alfama is to perfection.
