PR17 - Caminho do Pináculo e Folhadal is a cool 15 km trail in Madeira that takes approximately 6:30 hours to complete. However you can always just do a part of it and return. This trail offers breathtaking views of the Ribeira Brava valley, with Pico Ruivo and Pico do Areeiro as a backdrop. If you hike here you will walk through a preserved natural area, including the beautiful Laurissilva forest. Along the way, there are sections where you'll leave the levada to follow a stone-paved trail. (This park can be challenging for some, but it come pretty far in.) At the end of the trail, you can also access Vereda da Encumeada, which leads to Pico Ruivo. So, if you're up for an adventure and want to immerse yourself in the beauty of Madeira's nature, PR17 is definitely worth exploring! We made a video where we brought my sister (the one hygging the tree :D) out to this levade. We walked 90 minutes on this walk and then we returned. It was super beautiful and cozy.
