Nyboder is a small neighborhood in Copenhagen existing of long lines at low two to three storage houses mostly painted in yellow.

The residents of this neighborhood have one thing in common. They all work for the Danish navy. That's because only members of the Danish navy are allowed to live here. This was a rule manifested back in the day to make it more attractive to join the navy.

However back then the buildings were in poor shape and it wasn't prestigious living here.

Today it's one of the most sought after neighborhoods in the city and having a place here is seen as very fancy.

The buildings are registered as heritage buildings which means that the facades need to stay intact and authentic but the whole neighborhood is currently going through major refurbishment, which makes the charm shine.
