Vryses is a cute, traditional village in the region of Chania, a perfect stop for a walk, a dessert and lunch under the shade of the giant plane trees at the main square, by the river. Three rivers rush through Vryses: Boutakas, Farmakera and Vrysianos. In antiquity, the two Minoan cities of Amfifalion and Filippos were at today's Vryses location.

Don’t forget to greet the "permanent" inhabitants of the village, the adorable geese that hang around the river, as well as mingle with the locals whose main activities are farming, cultivating olive trees and citrus fruits.

Vryses is close to the city of Chania, the north coast, Lake Kournas, the wineries. It’s a great stopover on your way East, towards Rethymnon.
