Everything about this place "screams" homemade, family, warmth.
Skala tou Vradetou is a place you can stop for a coffee, get some shelter from the cold, and of course fuel up in some food as well. Everything you will drink or eat is homemade, by Konstantina and her parents. Konstantina, the owner, is a young jewelry-maker who decided to move to Vradeto, the Zagori's highest village in altitude (1,350m).
Winters up there are quite harsh, often snowy and icy. It's cold enough for the water pipes to actually freeze sometimes. This actually happened when I visited, January 2024. This meant that Konstantina did not have running water for the day. It's interesting to see how different life is up there, compared to lower altitudes.
Also, Konstantina might be a very kind and shy person, but don't hesitate to speak to her and ask her about the life or about her jewelry. She'll be delighted!
Did I mention the incredible view and the amazing short hike to the Beloi viewpoint?
