This is the largest of the approximately 5,500 caves located in Crete. Amazing, right?

It is located at the entrance to Zoniana village, at an altitude of 800m at the foot of Mt. Psiloritis. The deeper you venture into it, the more spectacular it gets. Astounding formations of stalactites and stalagmites all around you.

You buy the tickets at the cafe, close to the parking lot. The tours take place every 30 mins or so. You will have to buy your ticket and join a group in order to get inside. What you will hear and see is super interesting.

Also, the village of Zoniana is super close, so make sure you visit what is supposed to be Crete’s proudest village.
