This is Kipoi (you will also find it as Kipi), one of the 46 villages that nestled on the foothills of Mt Tymfi in Epirus.
Kipoi sits on a steep hill, overlooking the lush green valleys of Zagori. In autumn, the forests turn all orange, yellow and red and in the summer, the view is basically an endless green ocean that calms the eye.
When I was there, I was sitting on my balcony at Kipi Suites (a beautiful boutique hotel that I recommend) enjoying the silence and then all of a sudden heard the howling of a jackal in the distance. Such a wonderful moment.
I recommend roaming driving around and discovering the numerous old stone bridges in the area, such as Kokkoris bridge, as well as dining at Mihalis taverna, right at the main square by the road. You will find all kinds of traditional pies in there, in a very cosy environment.
