Playtime on trains
Some Swiss trains have a family carriage with a play area. It usually has a slide and room to run around.
When checking the timetables on SBB.ch or SBB Mobile app, look for Teddy Bear icon next to the train.
Click on that connection to see the train formation and look again for the Teddy Bear icon. It will show the train carriage number and which section of the track to stand on to find that carriage. In my example picture, it would be train carriage 9 in section D.
You can reserve seats in the family compartment as shown in the pictures here. Find your desired route. Then click the "Seat Reservation" button. If you already have a Travel Pass or ticket, you can choose "Seat Reservation Only".
Then select the Family Compartment option.
Make sure you add all passenger so you can book enough seats for the whole party. If you have children that don't need a seat, you don't have to book a seat reservation for them, just the adults who are sitting.
