If you are driving between Interlaken and Zermatt, there is no road over or under the alps. Instead, you use a car transport service through the Lötschberg tunnel.

You pay a fee then drive your car onto the special train. You stay in your car as the train carries you through the tunnel.

On the north side, you enter the tunnel at Kandersteg. On the south side, you enter the tunnel at Goppenstein.

You can see the timetable, wait times, and purchase your ticket online before arriving on the BLS website.

You cannot reserve a specific timeslot. There may be long waits during commute times and weekends.
