Grindelwald Bussalp is a sledding and winter hiking "paradise" with trails of varying lengths and difficulty, including the longest sled run in Europe at 12.5 km.

The sledding area is reached by the special "Grindelwald Bus. It leaves from the main Grindelwald Bahnhof train station and takes 35 mins to reach Grindelwald, Bussalp at 1800m where the sledding starts. You can bring your own sleds or rent them at Bussalp.

Because of limited space on the bus and high demand, reservations are a must for both the bus and sled rental. Email info@grindelwaldbus.ch to reserve.

The Grindelwald Bus requires a special ticket, which varies in price depending on where you ride the bus. The basic sledding package ticket costs CHF 49/adult, which includes the bus and sled rental. See See current prices.

There are two sledding routes from Bussalp bus stop down the mountain, City Run (5.4km) and Family Run 4.5 km), which take about 30 mins each. There is a bus stop at the end of these routes.

To reach the longest route, you must hike up the mountain about 2h30 to the Faulhorn peak at 2681 m. Then you can sled the full 12.5km down to Weidli at 1240 m (assuming good snow conditions at the lower elevation).
