Zurich has a surprisingly good art collection for a relatively small city. It boasts some of the best exhibitions and collections in the world, with pieces ranging from Old Masters to Impressionism and Contemporary Art. In 2021, they opened a new wing, making it Switzerland’s largest art museum.
The main collection is free on Wednesdays, so a great choice if you are on a tight budget. It's also free with the Zürich Card. The temporary exhibitions are an extra fee, but usually worth it. The included audio guide is always excellent.
We suggest starting with coffee and a croissant in the beautiful Art Deco inspired Kunsthaus Bar cafe in the new wing.
