This super long sled run is a lot of fun and has fantastic mountain views, maybe our favorite sled run we’ve done in Switzerland. Of course, it depends on the snow conditions, so pick a day with soft snow so you have more control steering.

Sled run: 8km from Melchsee-Frutt to Stöckalp • about 40 mins

There’s sled rental on site (half-day or full day) but they sell out quickly for this popular activity, so best to go early so you don’t miss out.

To reach the sled run, you ride a gondola up the mountain. You could sled down just once after doing a winter hike like we did. Then you only pay for one ride up the gondola and the sled rental, about CHF 33/adult in 2023. Or you can get a sledding gondola ticket sled for all day or half-day.
