The Sattel Hochstuckli mountain has a Goat Adventure Trail for kids, with fun goat-related activities scattered along the way. The trail leads to a goat farm where you meet the goats and can eat cheese and ice cream made from goat’s milk.

Goat trail: 5 km round trip • about 2 hrs with kids • 110m up & down • strollers ok
See trail map.

The trail has gorgeous panorama views across lakes, valleys and mountains. There are a couple picnic areas with fire pits and a restaurant along the way.

The Goat trail goes to the goat farm and then hikes back the same way, relatively easy walking for kids. Or you could continue on the Panorama trail (a bit more difficult uphill), which loops back around to your starting point, so you see something different on the way back.

After the hike, kids can enjoy the big outdoor amusement center with bouncy castles, trampolines and summer toboggan – a nice reward for good hiking.

Tickets

At a minimum, you'll need a return ticket on the gondola to reach the trail.

If the kids also want to visit the amusement center, you could get them the Day Pass, which includes the gondola plus access to the bouncy castles and unlimited use of the summer toboggan and tubing track.

Slight discount on the gondola with the Swiss Travel Pass and Swiss Half Fare Card. Gondola free with Lucerne Tell Pass.

See current prices.

How to get there

This trail starts at the top of the Sattel Hochstuckli gondola, which is located at Eumatt, 6417 Sattel, SZ.

By car: Drive to Sattel and follow signs to "Hochstuckli" (Eumatt, 6417 Sattel). There is a big metered parking lot next to the gondola.

By public transport: The Sattel, Gondelbahn bus stop is directly adjacent to the gondola station. Find your exact connection on SBB.ch.
