Atzmännig Rope Adventure Park is a super fun outdoor climbing park nestled in the Swiss countryside south of Zurich. You can swing through the trees like Tarzan, test your balance on wobbly bridges, climb big spider webs, conquer difficult obstacles, and glide through the forest on several zip lines.
Location: Atzmännigstrasse 1, 8638 Goldingen
Open: April to October
Website: www.atzmaennig.ch
More info: our Atzmännig Ropes Park article.
The ropes park is next to the Atzmännig outdoor amusement park that has a summer toboggan, playground, fair rides, and activity trail for kids.
The rope park has several climbing courses of varying difficulty. The easiest courses can be done by children at least 120 cm tall and 8 years old.
Children under 14 must be supervised by an adult on the course, not from the ground. One adult can reasonably supervise about 3 children. Some obstacles are difficult to reach for small children, even if they meet the minimum height restriction. Young children may also need help clipping in and out between obstacles.
The fee includes safety equipment, instruction, and use of the course for 3 hours.
Children aged 4 to 8 can use the two “Kinderparcour” courses. These small courses are close to the ground and use an “always on” safety harness that does not require clipping in and out at each obstacle.
Parents can easily monitor and help small children while standing on the ground next to the course. The Kinderparcour fee includes use of the small course for 90 minutes, instead of 3 hours for the big courses.
By public transport: Take a train to Rüti ZH, then buses to Atzmännig, Schutt, which is directly at the mountain resort. About 1h20 from Zurich.
By car: The address is Atzmännigstrasse 1, 8638 Goldingen, but my GPS Nav didn’t accept this address. So I used GPS coordinates: 47°17’05.0″N 8°59’43.6″E. About 55 mins from Zurich.
