One of the nicest ways for a non-skier to enjoy the Mürren region is on this easy winter trail from Grütschalp. The path is groomed snow so you can manage it with regular winter shoes. The views across the Lauterbrunnen valley to the Eiger are absolutely spectacular.
From Lauterbrunnen, you ride a cable car up to Grütschalp where the trail starts. Follow the pink signs and poles pointing to Winteregg and Mürren.
After about 45 mins, you'll reach the Winteregg station where you'll find a restaurant and toilets. If you feel tired, you can ride the mountain train the rest of the way to Mürren instead of walking.
The trail and mountain train end in the alpine village Mürren, where you can wander the streets admiring the charming traditional chalets. We suggest having lunch or at least a coffee break here, somewhere with a view.
For coffee, we like InSport Coffee Bar. For lunch, our friends suggest Restaurant Edelweiss, which has great views out its big windows and an outdoor terrace for sunny days. Stägerstübli is a local's favorite with regional dishes.
When you are ready to go back, you can ride the Mürren BLM train back to Grütschalp, then the cable car back to Lauterbrunnen.
With its dreamy scenery and gentle terrain, the Grütschalp to Mürren hike offers an unforgettable experience!

TIPS
In winter, this is part of the Schilthorn ski area, so you may be waiting in line with skiers, particularly in the mornings. Perhaps better a bit later in the day once most skiers are already on the mountain.
If you need to store luggage, the Lauterbrunnen train station and the Mürren BLM train station both have luggage lockers.
