This popular hiking route takes visitors through the idyllic Lötschental valley, which turns bright yellow in mid October. The panorama trail starts at the top of a cable car and traverses the mountain through lush forests and past alpine lakes.

It ends at a river where you can catch a bus back to your starting place. The route includes multiple cafes and restaurants to rest and refuel.

Note that if you visit after the third week of October, the bus no longer runs as far as Fafleralp. Instead it only goes as far as the Blatten (Lötschen), Dorf bus stop. In this case, after the hike, you will need to hike from Falfleralp to Blatten, about 4.2 km and 1 hour. It’s easy walking and all downhill.
