Harder Kulm is a mountain viewpoint above Interlaken at 1322m. To reach the top, you ride a funicular train from Interlaken, about a 10 mins ride.
At the top, there is a big panorama terrace overlooking Interlaken, Lake Brienz, Lake Thun, and many mountains.
There's not too much to do at the top except enjoy the views from the terrace and eat at the restaurant. The hikes that start here are very challenging, only for experienced hikers ready for a long day.
Many people come here specifically to eat at the castle-like Panorama Restaurant, which serves traditional Swiss food with stunning views. It's a popular spot for evening aperos and sunset dinners, watching the alpine glow lights up the famous peaks. Best to make a reservation and specify an outdoor table.
The funicular station is located across the river from the Interlaken Ost train station (see on map).
The funicular ticket is free with the Jungfrau Travel Pass and Bernese Oberland Pass. Discount with Swiss Travel Pass, Swiss Half Fare Card, and Interlaken Guest Card.
Open: April through November
