The Vogellisiberg mountain resort near Adelboden has 45 km of kick scooter trails, with seven trails, making it the biggest mountain scooter park in the world (so they say).
The trails are accessible by gondola, making it easy to spend a whole day riding up and down the mountain.
They also have a scooter pump track for smaller kids, alpine playgrounds, and fun theme trails, making it a super fun destination for families.
The scooter trails start at the top of the Sillerenbühl and Hahnenmoos gondolas.
To get there, you ride gondolas from Adelboden Oey, where you can park. If you are coming by public transport, you can ride a bus to Adelboden, Dorf Sillerenbahn, then take a short cable car or walk down to the Oey station.
There are seven scooter trails, so you have a lot of choice. We did 4 of the 7 trails during our summer holiday in this area. I'll describe our favorites here. See map of the full scooter trail network.
We liked trail 5 down from Hahnenmoos the best. It's a fun curvy route on a paved route, minimal walking, no traffic to watch out for. It's not super long, so our hands and feet didn't get too tired and we could rest on the gondola between rides.
To reach this trail from Sillerenbühl, you ride trail 4 down to the Geils station. Then you can ride up to Hahnmoos and ride trail 5 back down to Geils, repeat, repeat, repeat.
When you get tired of that, ride 6 down to one of the other gondola stations to access other trails. We also liked the restaurant at the top of Hahnenmoos, a little quieter than Sillerenbühl and great views.
This trail is super long, starting at the top of Sillerenbühl and riding all the way back to Adelboden Oey. Our hands got very tired from working the handbrakes during that long ride. We only did this route twice before switching to shorter routes. But we loved the views on that side of the mountain. See this scooter route map.
Kids must be 8 years old, 125 cm tall to ride the scooters. Smaller children may ride double with an adult. Helmets are provided.
You can purchase single cable car rides, but you can only purchase a day pass for the scooter, which costs CHF 18/person.
So in most cases, it makes most sense to purchase the Combined Offer Cable Car + Scooter, a day pass that includes unlimited use of the cable cars and scooters.
In 2024, this combined day pass costs CHF 58/adult, CHF 44/child (aged 6-15). Discount with Swiss Travel Pass, Swiss Half Fare Card, GA, and hotel guest cards.
