The Zermatt Flower Trail (aka Blumenweg) is lovely ramble over rocky hills and through flower filled meadows. Along the way, signboards (in English and German) teach you interesting facts like which magical plant was used to restore a cow's milk.
Trail: easy • 1h35 • 4.5 km • 40m up, 350m down

The trail is short and pretty easy, all downhill. So a good choice for families hiking with small children. But the path is rocky with uneven terrain, so not suitable for strollers.
The trail is located in the Zermatt area, accessed with the Sunnegga funicular - Vispastrasse 34, 3920 Zermatt.
To reach the trail, you ride the funicular up to Sunnegga. Then transfer to a gondola up to Blauherd. Then hike back to Sunnegga.
For this hike, you need the “Kombiticket” which includes a round trip ticket on the Sunnegga funicular train and a one way ticket on the Sunnegga-Blauherd gondola.
If you plan to ride the scooters down from Sunnegga, you’ll only need a one way ticket on the Sunnegga funicular and Blauherd gondola. Just tell the ticket agent what you plan to do and they will sell you the correct ticket.
In 2024, this ticket starts around CHF 43/adult, more expensive in summer. Discount with Swiss Travel Pass, Swiss Half Fare Card, GA and other travel cards.
