Message from Tanya Deans

The Klingenstock chairlift runs from Stoos up to the Klingenstock peak and start of popular Stoos Ridge trail.

Open: daily operation early June to mid October, weekends through early November. Runs 9:00 to 16:00 only in good weather. Check opening times and status.

To get there: From the Stoos funicular station, it's a 15 min walk through alpine meadows to reach the chairlift. Follow signs pointing to Klingenstock. See location on map.

The chairs fit six people. There is a safety bar with foot rests and optional transparent bubble for warmth and security.

šŸ’”Tip: If this chairlift is closed, you can hike up to the Stoos Ridge trail. See trail map. But do not hike the Stoos Ridge trail is the trail status is closed. It can be very dangerous in wet weather, high winds, or with any snow or ice on the trail.

Tickets

The chairlift is included in the Stoos Peak Experience ticket (aka Tageskarte). If necessary, you can purchase tickets just for the chairlift at the funicular or chairlift ticket office.

Tickets do not sell out and you do not need a reservation.

Discount with Swiss Travel Pass, Swiss Half Fare Card, and GA. Free with Lucerne Tell Pass.
