This alpine coaster is at the top of Glacier 3000, a tall mountain viewpoint near Gstaad Switzerland. It's one of the best coasters in Switzerland, with a very unique view above the glacier.

To reach the coaster, you ride two cable cars up the mountain. This means you have to pay for the cable car in addition to the coaster "per ride" fee.

  • Style: double rail coaster

  • Length: 877m

  • Cost: CHF 9/ride + cable car return ticket.

  • Age: age 9+ can ride alone if 140cm or taller, age 3-9 can ride with adult

  • Open: year round, but may close due to snow or poor weather. Check status.

  • Location: cable car at Col-du-Pillon near Gstaad - see on map

  • Website: www.glacier3000.ch

At other mountains, the coaster is an optional treat for us. But if you go to this touristy (and wonderful!) mountain, the coaster is an important part of the experience. So just include this coaster in your budget and enjoy the ride.

Afterwards, go bounce across the scary suspension bridge. Then ride a chair lift down to the glacier ice and sled on summer snow.
