Berggasthaus Tschingelhorn is a traditional mountain guesthouse at the far end of the Lauterbrunnen valley. See location on Google Maps.

You can only reach this place by hiking. They serve simple mountain food, local beer, and homemade cakes with a gorgeous view.

For an overnight stay, they have simple mountain hut style rooms, double, triple, and family rooms for 5 with bunks. The price is per person and includes breakfast and dinner. They prefer cash payment when you arrive. The hut has electricity and hot showers for a small fee. Children and dogs are welcome.

How to get here

We like to stop here after hiking up to the Tänzbödeli viewpoint. In this case, you'll pass this hut on your way down the mountain (about 3h30 into the hike), shortly after passing the Obersteinberg hut.

If you want to hike directly to this hut, you can start at the Stechelberg parking or Stechelberg, Hotel bus stop. The follow trail signs towards Tschingelhorn and Obersteinberg. It's a steep climb, gaining almost 800m over 3.5 km, about 2h20 walking time.
