This short and easy activity trail has 17 stations learning about and exploring the sensory experience of the moor.
Hike: easy • 1h • 1.4 km loop • 20m up & down
Open: June through October
The trail has fun activities like giant ears to listen to forest sounds, a "bare hands" exhibit to guess what forest items you are feeling, a mini barefoot path, light prism, and more.
It's easy walking; we had a 2.5 year old with us who walked the whole way. The trail is smooth gravel, suitable for strollers with all-terrain tires.
The trail starts and ends at a big alpine playground, with lots of interactive play stations educating children about nature. There’s water play, swings, slides, climbing stuff, obstacle courses, games, and a little scavenger hunt.
At the end of the day, older kids can ride bike boards down the mountain instead of the gondola. Nearby there is also summer toboggan.

Tip: My GPS told me to drive south to Sarnen, then drive over the pass north to Sörenberg on winding one lane road. It was a tiny bit faster and very beautiful, but more difficult driving than driving through Wolhusen to the north, then south into the Entlebuch valley.
By train: Take a train to Luzern, then a train to Schüpfheim, then a bus to Sörenberg, Post. Cross the street and walk about 100m to the Rossweid cable car station.
You'll need a return ticket on the gondola. In 2024, this ticket costs adult CHF 24, child CHF 12, under 6 free. Discount with Swiss Travel Pass and Swiss Half Fare Card. Free with Lucerne Tell Pass.
