Kerenzerberg is a small mountain area south of Zurich. After riding a chair lift (perhaps the slowest in Switzerland), it's a short hike to the pretty Talalpsee lake.

This lake is a popular picnic place for local families, especially on sunny weekends. There are a couple grilling stations, often with firewood. There's also a little hut with a cafe just above the lake.

Back at the chair lift, there is a restaurant and nice playground. You can rent scooter here to ride back down the mountain, on a winding paved road.

Trail Info

The path is partially on a dirt path with uneven terrain in a forest and some on a paved road. If you have a stroller, you can stay on the road the whole way to the lake.

Trail: moderate • 1h40 out and back • 180m up and down
See trail map

If you want to skip the chair lift, you can hike up from Filzbach (or down). It's the first part of the Route 73.

How to get there

This trail starts at the top of Filzbach-Habergschwänd chairlift - Talalpstrasse 15, 8757 Filzbach

The closest bus stop is Filzbach, Sportzentrum, a 5 min walk from the chair lift.
