Golzernsee is a small but beautiful alpine lake located in the mountains near the north entrance of the Gotthard tunnel. A quite family friendly trip, it is easily accessible by car or train and features a smooth dirt path from the cable car to the lake, suitable for strollers. At the lake itself, there are several restaurants, shallow areas of the lake for wading and swimming, and changing rooms and WCs. There are also plenty of challenging hikes for those looking for more of a challenge. Hike proposal: start at the mountain station of the Golzern cable car, 5.5km circular hike, 255m elevation gain, moderately challenging, around 1h51min to complete.
