Gotthard Pass is an alpine mountain pass that has been used for centuries by travelers between northern and southern Europe. At over 2100m, it is the lowest point between the summits of two mountains - Pizzo Lucendro and Pizzo Centrale - and lies on the main watershed of the Gotthard Massif. It is home to a variety of tunnels, like the historic Gotthard Rail Tunnel and the Gotthard Road Tunnel, as well as breathtaking views, picturesque hiking trails, and lakes. With its central and strategic location Gotthard Pass has become regarded as the "King of Mountain Passes" and an essential part to Swiss history and culture.
