Brissago Islands are a gem on the Lake Maggiore and have the distinction of being some of the only islands in the entire country. Home to lush subtropical plants the Brissago islands offer a unique window into the world of botany and natural beauty. On Isola Grande you can explore the Botanical Gardens and over 1700 species of exotic plants from across five continents. The smaller Isola di Sant'Apollinare is not currently open to visitors, but is intended for the school and work laboratories of the Sopraceneri Special Schools.
