Wat Chedi Luang is a beautiful Buddhist temple located in the ancient center of Chiang Mai, Thailand. Built during the 14th century by King Saen Muang Ma, Wat Chedi Luang was left unfinished for 10 years until it was completed in 1545 for King Tilokaraj. After an earthquake, the upper 30m of the structure collapsed and years later it was reconstructed thanks to the efforts from UNESCO and the Japanese Government. Here, you can explore the Emerald Buddha and take part in Monk Chats with novices who will be more than happy to share their knowledge about Buddhism or Thailand. There even city pillar shrine and a reclining buddha statue that are worth visiting as well!
