The Stanley Glacier Trail is a popular and relatively easy hike in Kootenay National Park near Banff. With stunning views of a glacier and waterfall, this trail offers a mix of alpine scenery and regrowth from a past wildfire. The trail starts with a gentle uphill climb, leading to a flat stretch before reaching a rocky hill.

Hikers can choose to stop at the boulder field for panoramic views or continue up a scree slope for closer views of the glacier. The scree slope is quite a bit more demanding physically, with a little bit of route finding involved. If you're not a confident hiker you may be more comfortable stopping at the viewpoint.

Keep an eye out for black bears on the upper slopes and don't forget your bear spray just in case!
