The Devil’s Thumb scramble offers stunning views of Lake Louise and the surrounding peaks, though it’s not dramatically better than the vistas from the Big Beehive. This easy scramble is a rewarding challenge, but climbers should know the risks of loose rocks in the ascent gully, especially with other parties above/below. To mitigate hazards and enjoy a quieter climb, it’s best to start early. It is best saved for those with some good mountain experience.
