The Rundle Riverside is an old trail that connects Canmore and Banff. The trail follows along the Bow River, but only offers a few views along the way and instead spends much of its time in the thick forest below Mount Rundle. While the elevation profile of the trail is fairly flat it does have a few hills at the start and end of both sides. It's also largely dominated by large roots which can make it a difficult bike ride.

We only recommend the trail for those experienced with trails in the Canadian Rockies such as trail runners and bikers. It's pretty remote, long, and its location in a wildlife corridor means there is a good chance of seeing a bear. It's most frequently used by endurance athletes who are looking to complete a circular route around Mount Rundle.
