Bláhylur - also known as Hnausapollur - is a breathtaking crater lake nestled in the Icelandic Highlands. Created from a massive eruption in 871 (just before Iceland’s first settlers allegedly arrived), the lake is famous for its deep blue colour. It's located right by the F208 highlands road where you can do a tiny detour and get some great views over the lake.
