Seyðisfjörður is a picturesque town in the Eastern Region of Iceland that is known for its unique old wooden buildings, culture and of course - the world famous rainbow street. Seyðisfjörður offers a wealth of activities for visitors, including camping, swimming at a local pool, visiting art galleries and museums, and more. During the winter months, Seyðisfjörður hosts a wide range of events, from the arts-focused Lunga Art Festival to skiing on Fjarðarheiði mountain pass. The port of Seyðisfjörður also serves as a hub for international travel and telecommunications. Definitely one of my favourite towns in Iceland!
QUICK NOTES:
What it is: A beautiful town in the Eastfjords (home to the famous rainbow street).
Best season: Any but it's the most lively during summer.
Best time of day: Any.
Nice to know: There's a local cinema there with an almost 100 year old history. They have at least two scheduled screenings a week in addition to other events: https://www.herdubreidseydisfjordur.is/home
