Stjórnarfoss Waterfall is a pretty hidden gem in southern Iceland. It's very close to the main road but still gets overlooked by most. With a picturesque backdrop of volcanic rocks and green slopes, Stjórnarfoss offers a calming view surrounded by cliffs. Locals also make visits here to enjoy the tranquility or even to take a dip on hot summer days (I can personally recommend that!).
QUICK NOTES:
What it is: A pretty waterfall near Kirkjubæjarklaustur, South Iceland.
Best season: Summer.
Best time of day: Sunrise / midday (it will be in the shade most of the day and at sunset, always pretty though).
Nice to know: There is a nice (but very basic) campsite about 2 minutes away from the waterfall.
