An iconic mountain in Iceland

This is definitely one of my favourite spots in Iceland. Located on the southeast corner of the island, Vestrahorn always delivers on the epic views. The most classic views are from a small peninsula called Stokksnes. To get there you either park your car at the small café or you pay around 6 USD (per passenger) and you can drive your car there. Once on the peninsula you can walk around the giant sand dunes and go down to the black beach for different view points of the mountain.

QUICK NOTES:

  • What it is: One of the most iconic mountains in Iceland, located on the southeast corner of the island.

  • Best season: Any, this place is truly incredible all year round.

  • Best time of day: Any but sunset there is insane.

  • Nice to know: For the most classic views you need to walk/drive along a small peninsula called Stokksnes. To drive there you need a pay around 6 USD per passenger in the car.
