Dynjandi is a breathtaking waterfall located in the remote Westfjords of Iceland. It's around 100 meters high and its widest point being 60 meters in total. If you're driving down from the mountain pass above Dynjandi, make sure you're looking to your left as you ascend so you'll see when Dynjandi suddenly comes into view. There's a nice parking lot right by the road and from there you have a nice trail along the river all the way to the waterfall. It only takes around 15 minutes and I'd urge you to make the walk. Dynjandi looks epic from wherever you're standing but seeing and hearing it from up close really completes the experience.
QUICK NOTES:
What it is: A huge waterfall in the Westfjords.
Best season: Summer (it's always epic but has more water during summer and is mostly in the shade during other seasons).
Best time of day: This place is always worth it but just know that the sun doesn't hit it until sometime in the afternoon (depending on the exact time of year).
Nice to know: If you have the time, make the hike all the way up (15-20 minutes). It's incredible to see, hear and experience it from up close!
