As part of a cozy family-run guest house nestled in the lush valley of Strandir, this swimming pool has a long history. It was built in the 1940's as a joint effort by farmers from the area. There is a constant flow of hot spring water through the pool. Therefore, very little additives or cleaning agents are added to the water. Next to the pool itself is a small natural hot spring. Admission is included when you stay at Hotel Laugarhóll but you can also pay only for access to the pool.

QUICK NOTES:

  • What it is: A beautiful pool that's a part of Hotel Laugarhóll in the Westfjords.

  • Best season: Any.

  • Opening hours: 8am - 10pm (except Tuesdays).

  • Nice to know: There's also a natural hot spring called Gvendarlaug right next to the pool. Changing rooms on-site.
