Hverfjall is a 2500 year old volcanic crataer located in north Iceland. It stands over 400 meters tall and is one of the largest of its kind in the world. When you visit, I do recommend you hike to the top for panoramic views of the surrounding landscape and into the crater itself. There are two paths to hike up (north side and south side), whichever is suitable for different level of fitness (north side is less steep). The ascent is around 100m and if you want to finish the whole loop on top of the crater it's around 1km / 0.6 miles.
