Kvíárjökull Glacier is a pretty massive outlet glacier of Vatnajokull, the largest glacier in Europe. It's like this big icy tongue sticking out from Öræfajökull, reaching heights of up to 150 meters. The glacier's got a cool little glacial lagoon at its front edge, surrounded by some seriously impressive terminal moraine hills.
QUICK NOTES:
What it is: A glacier on the south coast.
Best season: Any.
Best time of day: During a big part of the year, it will be in the shadow during sunrise and sunset.
Nice to know: There is a parking right in front of it and you can walk closer to the lagoon.
