Gígjagjá, or Yoda Cave, is a spectacular cave located on the slopes of Hjörleifshöfði in South Iceland. It is most famous for how its shape resembles Yoda and the cave was supposedly used in the movie Rogue One: A Star Wars Story in the film's opening scene. Definitely worth a visit!
QUICK NOTES:
What it is: A geothermal area near Lake Kleifarvatn, Reykjanes.
Best season: Summer (the drive there can be hard when it has rained a lot or after heavy snow).
Best time of day: Afternoon / sunset (that's when the sun shines into the cave).
Nice to know: Please don't poop in the cave!
