You can't get any more tropical than Nauthólsvík Geothermal Beach in Reykjavik on a warm sunny day. This man-made geothermal beach features a lagoon constructed with large sea walls, resulting in higher temperatures and a warm wading pool. There's also a hot tub and a steam bath. You do have to pay to use the changing rooms and there's also a swimsuit/towel rental along with some basic snacks.

Best season: Summer.
Opening hours:
Summer (May 15 - Aug 15): 10am-7pm all days.
Winter (Aug 16 - May 14): Tuesday-Friday: 11am – 7pm / Saturday: 11am – 4pm / Sunday: closed.
Nice to know: There is a hot tub close to the changing rooms and a warm wading pool right by the ocean. Also a great spot to dip your toes into the sea!
